课程内容简介(英文):“Fluid Mechanics for Ship and Ocean Engineering” is one of the essential foundational courses in the Marine Engineering and Technology discipline. Almost all subsequent courses related to the dynamic performance of ships and ocean engineering structures are based on it. The course primarily introduces the fundamental theories and analytical methods of fluid mechanics in ship and ocean engineering, including the basic properties of fluids, fluid statics, descriptive methods for fluid motion, fundamental governing equations of fluid dynamics, fluid vortex motion, potential flow of ideal fluids, wave theory, viscous fluid mechanics, fluid boundary layers, and dimensional analysis methods in fluid mechanics.

Through this course, students will not only be able to describe the theoretical framework of fluid mechanics and recognize new directions for its development but also learn to observe, think about, and analyze various complex flow problems encountered in ship and ocean engineering using the perspectives and methods of fluid mechanics. This knowledge will enable them to effectively solve practical engineering problems and lay a foundation for the study of courses in ship and ocean engineering, offshore engineering, port engineering, and marine engine engineering.
